The Future Is an ipod!
Now that Christmas is just a memory... I wonder how many people were fortunate to get or be given one of those glorious ipod machines as created by the genius apple corporation? I was... and jolly happy I am with it too!
The newer generation ipods be it the nano or classic models... or even the amazing itouch and iphone have all got the capacity to show video; and with the larger and larger hard drives they can store quite a bit of it too.
However... they do not play any of the formats of video file I have been uploading... not avi, not mpg and not wmv... they play the MP4 format!
I have therefore spent the last few weeks experimenting with various conversion programs so as to make my huge back catalogue of Speedway videos now playable on my ipod... and eureka! after awful problems with sound-syncing I have now found the correct method.
So, I am now in a position to share a whole load of videos that you may download and put on your ipods too....
We will start with two most popular videos
1981 World Final

A few more words of explanation may also be needed here. The MP4 files above are designed to play on the tiny screen of an ipod, so are compressed accordingly and therby give smaller file sizes, roughly 300mb for and hour of video... and this does give really good quality on the tiny ipod screen.
The videos can also be played on a normal computer, with the appropriate media player, but will obviously only look good with a small window size.
That is why I will be continuing to upload avi, mpg and wmv files at the usual higher resolution in order to satisfy everyones needs... I shall endeavour to mark the different formats to avoid confusion.
